Odds and Ends: Andy Roddick and Maria Sharapova are not dating

Andy Roddick told reporters a million times that he and Sharapova are just good friends. “You know, we’re friendly. We’re in the same places. I think she’s a great girl. You know, we’ll talk. That’s about it.” Damn, Andy, how can you be friends with Maria Sharapova and not want to run up in her like Bruce Jenner? (Man that’s an old joke. Some of you kids don’t even know who Bruce Jenner is right? Now stay off of my lawn!) What is wrong with Andy Roddick? We’re officially starting the Andy Roddick is gay speculation. And of course, this post is nothing more than a reason to post another photo of Miss Sharapova.

Allen Iverson is not a lottery ticket

Jackie Chiles can get you $600,000

Four guys are suing Allen Iverson and his manager for negligence because they got their asses kicked by security personnel. The four plaintiffs contend that Iverson and his manager negligently hired “dangerous individuals” known as “The Horsemen” for security at an event.

According to the lawsuit, two of the four plaintiffs, Priest Brown and Robin Isman, were attacked by The Horsemen as they left the club, and the other two were assaulted while dancing. They are suing for $600,000 each. Man, it pays to get your ass kicked every once in a while.

NASCAR doesn’t care about black people

(…or was that George Bush?)

According to Reuters, “A former African-American crewman who once worked on NASCAR’s Winston Cup circuit sued the governing body of the U.S. stock car series on Tuesday for race discrimination and breach of contract”, which brings up he question, “so how long have you ceased being African-American?”

We’ll assume that David Scott is still African-American but used to be a crewman with NASCAR. Scott is suing NASCAR because of an incident where he was harrassed by at least two white motorcoach drivers from other teams with one donning a white pillowcase over his head like a klansman. When the incident was publicized, NASCAR shuttled him away and promised him a future job but after five years and no job, Scott is suing for back pay and compensatory damages.

Man sues over Mother’s Day tote bag

The $4,000 tote bag

There should be a law that if someone brings about a lawsuit that is deemed ridiculous by 99% of the country, he/she should be forced to watch Cool as Ice nonstop for the next year. Either that or have to bathe Rosie O’Donnell. And that law should be passed in time for Michael Cohn, a fan that is suing the Angels because he did not receive a Mother’s Day nylon tote bag.

Cohn is bringing a class action lawsuit that alleges that any male or fan under the age of 18 that didn’t receive a tote bag last May is entitled to $4,000 each in damages because they were treated unfairly. Cohn wrote a letter to the team last June and they sent him four tote bags but that wasn’t enough for him. We’re not even going to speculate why he needs a womens tote bag. Perhaps he’ll sue over Angels eyeliner day too.

The team even modified the promotion this year and will give the bags to the first 25,000 fans over the age of 18 but his parasite lawyer says that violates the civil rights of those under 18.

You know what? Watching Cool as Ice or bathing Rosie isn’t enough. These people just need to be shot.
