Flyers — Enjoyed the podcast, but when the Devils came back to win vs. Montreal during the show (thus winning the division), someone said it was the worst case scenario for Philadelphia. However, if the Devils had lost, the Flyers would have had home ice, but would play New Jersey. Seeing as NJ has won 11 in a row after an impressive victory over the Rangers yesterday and Brodeur’s success in the post-season, as a Flyers fan, I’d rather play the Sabres.

Of course, the Flyers come out and put up a lackluster effort in Game 1. Esche looked sensational though in overtime.

that was me — Between playing on the road against Buffalo or at home against the Devils… i didn’t know what to think.  The Sabres did score 110 pts this year but the Devils were read hot.

I guess the best case scenario was Flyers to play the Rangers at home in the first round, which only could have happened if the Devils came back to tie the canadiens but lose in overtime.

In any case, we got the Sabres and put up a pretty decent effort in the second half of that game.  Did you think we got hosed on the non-goal that would have won it.  Objectively, it looked a little high to me.  However, the calls all went Buffalo’s way.

Flyers — The non-goal call on the high stick was probably correct, but we did get hosed on the penalties. Esche and the penalty kill unit spent most of the overtime trying not to lose. It’s amazing that Buffalo didn’t score until midway through the 2nd OT.

And then, when Umberger gets knocked unconscious on what I thought was a dirty hit, the refs swallow their whitsles.

Oh well, it’s a long series.
