baseball talk — i think too much is read into the yankees giving up alot of runs in the redsox series. those series always produce big run totals, but i do think if torre keeps abusing vallone and proctor they run into trouble in the long run.
but let’s say proctor and vallone are fine and the yanks roll into the playoffs playing as good of baseball as they have since the all-star break… there is no way CHICAGO can beat them in a 5 game series. it’s very simple why:
– take a look at the ERA’s of every white sox starter minus contreras, and compare those ERA’s first to last year, and second to Jaret Wright. yes, jaret wright, starting pitcher of the new york yankees. this man has a better ERA then all the chisox starters minus jose. wierd i know i had to look it up to believe it, but chicago will have major problems in a short series this season.
