Despite being 11 games out of first place in the division and 8.5 games out of the Wild Card, the Twins have won 8 in a row and have made a charge into the top ten in power rankings. They might not make the playoffs but at least they’re getting some recognition for their stellar play.

Some of these are ridiculous — I honestly don’t know how ANY writer with any knowledge of the game could put a top NL team above a top AL team in power rankings. The NL has shown how weak they are in interleague play over the past few years. It’s getting more and more obvious that the World Series should be the best two teams in baseball, not the best AL team against the 13th strongest team in the Majors; eventually people are going to get tired of sweeps in the Series.
