Danica’s demolition derby

Surely, by now you’ve seen the clip of Danica Patrick bowling over a member of an opposing pit crew. But if you haven’t then here’s your chance. It’s pretty painful to watch. Charles Buckman is still in the hospital after suffering a fractured skull and experiencing brain hemorrhaging, but he is expected to recover.

We know that the Indy Racing League released Patrick of all responsibility in the incident, but now is the perfect opportunity for you to insert your favorite “women are bad drivers” joke.

Athletes and horrible ads, a match made in heaven

Now that we’re a good ways into the NBA playoffs, those damn split-screen commercials with a pair of All-Stars yapping about the importance of winning it all are really getting annoying. But they’re still better than some of the others ads athletes have taken part in and we’ve found a list of The Top 25 Hilarious Bad Athlete Commercials to prove it.

Here are our personal favorites:

Our one complaint with the list is, where the hell is the Peyton vs. Eli lick-off?!?

Baron Davis wants to have a staring contest with you

The Warriors missed the playoffs this year, so Baron Davis is seriously jonzing for some competition right now. And we mean he is REALLY desperate. Hey, its tough going from embarrassing the No. 1 seed one year to sitting on your couch the next.

Word on the street is that BD just put out an open invitation to anyone who thinks they can hang with him in an armpit-farting competition. Get your game straight.

Richie Sexson has a depth perception problem

The benches cleared last night during the Rangers/Mariners game after Richie Sexson took offense to a Kason Gabbard pitch. And we’re still trying to figure out why. Here’s what the apparently nearsighted Sexson had to say.

“I’m 6-foot-8. He can hit corners at will,” Sexson said. “6-8 and all of a sudden he’s up that high? I’m a huge target. How hard is it to hit me? Hit me in the back or thigh. Up near my face is no good.

“I’ve been in the game a long time. I’ve been hit on purpose before. But it’s been the right way. You go to first. It’s part of the game. You know how it works.”

Or you don’t get hit, explode into a fit of rage and start hurtling your helmet at a pitcher. Either way.

The Round Mound of Rebound finally said what we’ve all been thinking for years but wouldn’t say because we were afraid he’d throw us through a window.

When mom said "Give him a bottle during the game," we don’t think this is what she meant

Let’s face it, baseball is a sport conducive to fan drunkenness. In reality, all sports promote drinking while watching, but perhaps nobody does it better than baseball. With all the downtime between pitches and innings and the sheer length of the games, alcohol certainly makes the time pass a little swifter. So, it should be no surprise that parents are teaching their kids the proper ballpark etiquette at younger and younger ages.

Shaq will do almost anything for a ring

Phoenix’s trade for Shaquille O’Neal didn’t exactly work like they hoped it would. Instead of hoisting another trophy over his head, Shaq is instead, sitting at home after the Spurs sent Phoenix packing after the first round. Quite frankly, we miss the big fella. O’Neal is always the life of the party and without him we just feel empty inside, especially when the press conference’s coming rolling around.
