If you want to tailgate with the big boys then you gotta get a Party-A-Cargo

The football season is slowly creeping up on us and, before you know it, the pigskins will be flying once again. Of course, the kickoff of the college and pro football schedules really signifies something much bigger: tailgating. Now, you might think you have the ultimate tailgating setup with your generators, barbecue grill, big screen television and gigantic team flag, but you really don’t have anything until you equip your truck with one of these bad boys.

Getting a Party-A-Cargo tow hitch mounted kegerator accomplishes these four things:

Allows you to pour up to 160 ice cold keg beers all day long with only one keg and a 20-pound bag of ice. (Sorry Can Man, you’ll have to recycle someone else’s empties.)

You can play your music for up to 12 hours without using your vehicle’s battery. (Obviously the guys in the video recommend some AC/DC but you can play whatever you like.)

You’ll head into your game or concert without having to clean up empty beer cans or reload heavy and dirty coolers back into you vehicle. (The locking doors ensure nobody will steal your beer while you’re inside the venue either.)

More importantly, you’ll be the envy of every tailgater in the parking lot. (If you can’t round up some random poon with this on the back of your vehicle, you will probably remain celibate for the rest of your life.)

Remember when Isaiah Rider used to be one of the most talented up-and-comers in the Association? Well, those days are long, long gone and nowadays Rider spends a lot more of his time behind bars instead of dribbling balls. Trouble has followed this guy for over a decade now, but it is still a surprise to see a star fall this far, this fast. His latest transgression involves a stolen car, $25,000 bail and a court date next month.

Officer Norma Eisenman said Rider was driving a car that failed to stop at an intersection in the city’s (Los Angeles) Skid Row district. Officers checking the license plates discovered the car had been reported stolen from South Los Angeles, police said. Rider was arrested and the car was impounded.

Rider played at UNLV before starting his pro career in 1993. He played with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets before ending his career in 2001.

Rider had a string of arrests during and after his career for drug use, assault and other crimes. He also racked up large fines and suspensions during his career for offenses that ranged from being tardy to practice to spitting at fans.

In January, Berkeley police answering a report of a confrontation between a taxi driver and a passenger arrested Rider on Oakland warrants alleging unlawful firearm possession and grand theft. Last year, he pleaded guilty in Marin County to several charges, including felony cocaine possession, battery and evading a police officer.

From flying high to getting high and ridin’ dirty: what a long strange trip it’s been!

"Mr. Automatic" to the rescue!!

Norm Johnson spent 18 years in the NFL as a placekicker where he nailed his share of game-winners. But none of that matter to a Seattle woman who just knows him as her hero.

The woman, Virginia Sayson, was driving when her car hit a patch of ice, throwing it into a skid before sending the car flipping over into a ditch. Sayson was knocked unconscious momentarily and when she awoke, she found herself upside-down, trapped inside the car as water flooded into the cabin.

She removed her seatbelt, crawled into the back of the car, frantically searched for her cell phone with no success and then, out of nowhere, the former Seahawk showed up on the scene.

I was screaming, ‘Please help me,’ ” Sayson said. “He came back with a big rock, gave me a sign to back up and he broke the window,” Sayson said.

Johnson, 47, initially tried to force open all of the doors, but they were pinned. He even tried kicking the window, but couldn’t break the glass because the car was “at a weird angle.”

The rock did the trick.

Ahhh, we love a story with a happy ending. And what really makes this a truly inspiring act is the selflessness Johnson displayed after the heroic deed. He doesn’t need or want recognition for his act; nope, just a little reciprocation would be nice.

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time,” Johnson said. “If I was in a car upside down, I would hope somebody would come out and save me.
