Seahawks fan still fighting the good fight

It might just be a publicity stunt for his radio show but “The T Man” in Seattle bought a billboard to protest the officials robbing the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

Six grand for a bit of relief is worth it every time.  It’s my own therapy, to show how bogus this was.

The people in Pittsburgh must know they didn’t win this game. I hope they feel very hollow about this victory. Everyone else feels it’s time to move on, but I’m not movin’ on.

Hell, I wrote a petition to improve NFL officiating and even I’m losing steam at this point.  As I predicted, most people were outraged and then as time passed are just letting it go.  It’s too bad really ’cause the refs really stunk up the joint and they do need to fix the officiating in the NFL.

Oh the irony – Betting on Tocchet conviction

Who says we have a gambling problem?  Just because Vegas did about $100M in legal action on the Super Bowl doesn’t mean we’re out of control right?  Hold on a second while I figure out the best odds on Tocchet getting convicted for “financing a gambling ring.”

BetEagle.com has the follow odds:
Convicted & Jail Time – 250
Convicted & Probation – 600
Not Guilty + 400

Nine.com has:
Be found guilty of Promoting Gambling  -350
Be found not guilty of Promoting Gambling  +400
Promoting Gambling charge will be dropped   +1000
Mistrial on the charge of Promoting Gambling +2000

Hmmmm, things don’t look good for The Rick.

Dutch teams ban visiting fans from matches

You call this a soccer riot?
Come on boys, let’s take ’em to school!

You thought the Artest brawl last year was bad? In Amsterdam, seventy Ajax fans stormed into the ADO fans clubhouse last Friday with baseball bats and knives and attacked the 12 people who were there. Two people were stabbed and eight were injured. Even the Black Hole in the Colliseum isn’t this bad.

The mayor and soccer officials stepped in and imposed at least a 5 year ban on opposing fans. The people involved are getting 10 year penalties.

Someone please stop the NBA All Star Celebrity Game

Look at these lineups folks:

Clutch City
Coach:  Queen Latifah
GM – ESPN’s Greg Anthony
Bow Wow, hip-hop artist/actor
Andrew Firestone, ABC’s The Bachelor
Donald Fasion, actor
Chris Meloni, actor
Ice Cube, actor/performer
Kevin Frazier, Entertainment Tonight
Swin Cash, WNBA’s Detroit Shock

H-Town
Coach:  Eva Longoria
GM – ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith
Nick Cannon, actor/singer
Chris Brown, R&B singer
Carlos Bernard, actor
Nelly, hip hop artist
Brandon Routh, actor
Tony Potts, Access Hollywood
Becky Hammon, WNBA’s NY Liberty

Here’s your problem, you want to root for Eva Longoria but you can’t because Stephen A. Smith is the GM of that team and, well, he’s a huge douchebag. Your only hope is that Eva decides to strip during the game.

If you don’t know who some of these celebrities are, don’t worry, neither do I.  I love how Ice Cube is no longer a “hip hop artist”, just an actor/performer.   My money is on the Eva team even if they are hampered by Tony Potts.  Plus, they have Superman.

Darko Milicic career highlights

It’s been downhill since

You were expecting a blank entry right? Sorry, we actually have some. Though to call them highlights might be stretching it a bit.

  • Drafted #2 overall. Ahead of Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade.
  • Averaged 6.9 minutes per game and 1.8 ppg in 04-05 season. (career highs)
  • Got an ear infection from getting his ears pierced.
  • Had 6 rebounds in a game once.
  • Has never fouled out.
  • Lead all first rounders in DNP-Coaches Decision.

That’s about all I can find. Hopefully he’ll have a chance to improve some of those highlights once he gets to Orlando.

It’ll cost less to see the Raiders suck next year

I’m cheap!

This year, for the first time since the Raiders moved back to Oakland 11 years ago, the Raiders are selling season tickets directly to fans. Here are the highlights.

  • No more PSLs. (Though PSL holders get season ticket priority.)
  • Lowered ticket prices on about 65 percent of the seats in the Colliseum. Tickets will range from $26 to $101.
  • 15% of the seats will be $36 or less; 27% of the seats will be $46 or less.

Now, you couldn’t pay me to go to the Colliseum again but at least now there’s some hope that good games will be sold out and those of us in the Bay Area can actually see some Raiders home games.

Spring Training starts today!

Woo hooo!

Well baseball junkies, today is the day you’ve been waiting for. It might still be snowing in your neck of the woods but down in Florida, pitchers and catchers report today. I think it’s God’s little joke that the people most excited about spring training are fans of teams destined for another year of disappointment.

Knicks are desperate

ruining Knicks basketball
for next 10 years

I remember driving from Boston to Philly when it was announced that Isiah Thomas would take over the Knicks. It was the best news that I could get as a Sixers fan. (Although Billy King isn’t anything to be proud of either.) How is it possible that everyone on sports radio on the east coast knew hiring Isiah would be the biggest pigfuck in the history of the Knicks (except this idiot), yet MSG went ahead and gave him full control of the franchise?

As we head for the trade deadline, Zeke and the Knicks are scrambling to get a backup point guard (they just never got around to it I guess) and there are two names floating around, Earl Watson and Steve Francis. To get Watson, they’d have to package Channing Frye, who they say is untouchable and/or take a bunch of really bad contracts in exchange. It’d be typical for Isiah to trade an expiring contract in Penny Hardaway to get a huge contract like K-mart’s and his bad knees.

As for Steve Francis, this is a guy who wears out his welcome wherever he goes, who refused to go back into a blowout game. That’s going to work out great when the Knicks lose their 20th in a row. Marbury and Francis in the backcourt together would be must see TV. The Magic are saying it won’t happen, but I’d like to see this trainwreck take place.

I’m not sure how much more pleasure I can take in the Knicks being this bad. On one hand, it’s fun as hell. On the other hand, Isiah Thomas doesn’t deserve a job.
