I guess they’re a little ticked off about Johnny Damon going to the evil empire in Lowell Massachusetts because they’re trying to remove the Yankees from their little league.

Many kids actually pray they will not be on the Yankees when the rosters and teams are announced.
We figured the easiest and best solution was replace those Yankee teams with the Spinners, who are part of the Boston Red Sox system.
Seems awfully silly to me. Most kids playing little league are just happy they don’t have to play soccer. When you spend most of your time in right field picking your nose, you don’t really worry about what name is on your uniform. We can’t nearly muster up as much anger for this story as this guy though. His reaction is better than the story itself.

Yankee-free zone — I have to go ahead and disagree. When I played Little League, I was on the Pirates one year and the Orioles the next. I hated the kids who got to be on the Red Sox. I especially hated when I gave up a home run in 9-year-olds to a sumo-esque fat kid who was on the Red Sox. Sometimes life isn’t fair.
But I really felt bad for the kids on the Yankees. No one in the North Attleboro Little League wanted anything to do with the Yankees. It’s probably not good for a little kid growing up in the 508 or the 617 to learn how to be self-loathing in third grade. I’m all for the exclusion of the Yankees from all New England Little Leagues.
I played little league in Philly — and we never had these problems. And philly hates everyone. It wasn’t a big deal what team you played on. You were pretty much there to fuck around and get water ice after the game.
It could be worse, you could’ve played Little League in San Francisco and be the Castros.
