Stephon Marbury just can't shut up

Posted on Wed Aug 22, 2007 at 10:40:11 AM EST in NBA
More on: Stephon Marbury, Michael Vick, dogfighting, stupid (all tags)

So, we were sitting there watching SportsCenter as they ran a package of reactions from the sports world on the Michael Vick guilty plea when suddenly Stephon Marbury popped up on the screen. Immediately our ears perked up and we inched to the edge of our seats to make sure we were ready for the next Marbury verbal A-Bomb to be dropped. We weren't disappointed.

We don't say anything about people shooting deers and shooting other animals, you know what I mean?" Marbury said in an interview that was aired by Capital 9 News in Albany. "From what I hear, dogfighting is a sport. It's just behind closed doors and I think it's tough that we build Michael Vick up and then we break him down ... I think he fell into a bad situation.

Marbury has become a walking, talking punch line and it's getting really hard to determine if this is a gimmick or if he's actually devolved into a complete idiot. Perhaps he's been spending too much time around all the cheap glue used to slap his ugly shoes together or maybe he's been throwing away his hard earned jack to the Clinton Portis School of Public Speaking. Either way, to casually refer to dogfighting as a "sport" is really pretty sick. Then again, this is the guy who told his gun toting cousin, Sebastian Telfair, to "be careful around Kevin McHale." McHale might be a horrible GM, but nobody in Minnesota had to wear Kevlar vests before Sea Bass came to town.

marbury,
Your comments about CON-VICK are ignorant.  SPORT?  How can dog fighting be a sport you jack-ass?  For your next gangsta tatoo-why not write MORON across your forehead.  Well, no need to, we are laughing at you already. You are one of the dumbest creatures on earth.

It's called "Game Management".  I'm cool with him defending Vick for being an idiot, I think it is a very unfortunate situation for all involved (especially the dogs).  But before Marbury starts comparing dog fighting to hunting he and all the other shallow minding embeciles should know their facts.  If they didn't allow hunting of game, especially deer, they would be running the roads like crazy and chances are, if you are out driving anywhere near a rural area after dark, you're going to plow a deer.  Think about that Marbury and please know the facts about hunting before you start comparing the senseless slaughtering of dogs to the humane management of game animals.  Besides, hunters eat what they kill, do they ?

First of all hunting is the most unhumane thing a human can do,it does not matter if the deer is going to walk or run onto the road or not, but hunting is sport sick and twisted as it is,it ok, no it is not ok to shoot and kill, period you know and i know that it is unhumane face it.and stop trying to justify the nonsense. Stephon is right, about the way america thinks who says you are right and the way he thinks is wrong and yes he has a voice today, yesterday, and to tomorrow.and what are you smokin and drinkin.

Marbury must have been hanging out and hittin the pipe with JR Rider & Gary Sheffield!! I guess we shouldn't expect less from some clown who "attended" one term of college, his education level is really showing through. Like the United Negro College Fund commercial stated "A mind is a terrible thing to waste" Just goes to show, without sports the three guys above would be handing us our burgers at the drive-thru window. NBA/MLB/NFL should mandate off season completion of four year university degree's with NO PHYS ED classes for ass clowns like those mentioned above.

OMG...this guy is about as dumb as Vick.  Sounds as if he too is trying to toss his career.  Why do people say stupid things about things they know nothing about.  Back to the hood you should go.

Marbury should be strung up nude and have his balls eltrocuted.  then, we'll simulate the drowning he thinks is "sport" by holding him underwater for 5 minutes.  I bet he wouldn't think that was a "sport."

Hope he didn't spend a lot making those $10 shoes of his. Don't really know of anyone who would want to wear some cheap pos like that or something that was made by a person with no regard for and innocent dog's life. What an idiot.

Apply the same rules of dog fighting to ALL sports (#9)
by Trinity on Thu Aug 23, 2007 at 02:09:10 PM EST
In the scheme of things in society, understanding laws and rules...we are governed by them. If there are no laws or rules to keep things in check, it's possible chaos would reign.

Society has grown and has developed because of laws and those laws were put into place to protect humans, domesticated animals etc.

Michael Vick and all cowardly people who support dog fighting are breaking the law. Just like if someone would shoot you for sport, it's breaking the law.

The law allows deer hunting for thinning of herds. If this did not happen deer would over run areas they live causing other issues for farmers, drivers etc. And the DNR hasn't fully embraced birth control for deer yet.

There is no reason for dog fighting to take place or exist. They are domestic animals in the United States and are protected based on that and more needs to be done with the law enforcing harsher penalties against those who harm animals.

If we would apply the same thinking some folks have that dog fighting is a sport to human sports imagine what it would be like if there were no laws. In dog fighting, animals are unleashed on other dogs looking to fight, helpless puppies and when a dog doesn't live up to the fight, the owner kills them or let's them live torn up and cripple.

Ok, under this thinking, if Michael Vick throws more than one interception, the owner of the team needs to cut off a finger and if the team loses, then the owner needs to slaughter all of them for not playing well.

Isn't it good that we are civilized enough...intelligent enough to know right and wrong and isn't it good that there are laws to protect us when there are those who are NOT civilized enough...or intelligent enough to know right from wrong?

Think About It.

I don't blame this uneducated fool one bit. He is a product of our society that was put in the position to be able to make such an insane comment which made CNN.  He and his type of morons have always thought that way and will continue to think that way.  It's the idiots who sit glued in front of a tube all day/night who pay for their salaries that put him in this position.  Don't blame him, blame the morons who paid for his salary and made him who he is today.  If you don't want to hear a complete moron like this and others stop making sports the number one item in your life.  Damn, go out and enjoy the outdoors and other things versus worshiping a bunch of idiots toss a ball around a court or field.
